Terms of Service

The service

The Envelope Method is a budgeting tool operated by Klynton Brian Crabbe. It helps you give every dollar a job: envelopes, transactions, a monthly plan, a calendar, accounts with projected interest, statement imports, and shared expenses with the people you split with.
The Envelope Method is a record-keeping and planning tool. It is not financial advice, and it does not move, hold or invest money.

The free version is a real budget with no time limit: up to two accounts and eight spending envelopes, simple interest, statement import, and planning for this month and the next. Sharing and detailed interest are reserved for the full version.
The full version is a single one-time payment that unlocks unlimited accounts and envelopes, detailed interest, shared expenses and invoices, and the full multi-month forecast — for the lifetime of your account. There is no subscription and no recurring payment.
Nothing you created on the free version is ever deleted. If you go over a limit (for example after a refund), your existing data stays visible and becomes read-only for the extra items.

Purchases are processed by Paddle (paddle.net), who acts as the seller of record, collects payment and handles sales tax. We never see or store your card details.
If a purchase is refunded or charged back, full access ends after a 30-day wind-down period. During those 30 days everything keeps working, and buying again clears the wind-down immediately. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials private and for the accuracy of the transactions you record.
Your data is yours. You can delete your account at any time from Settings, which removes your profile and budgeting data. Where you shared expenses with someone else, their records are kept with your name shown as a placeholder.
We never record bank account or card numbers, and we delete uploaded statements, screenshots and CSVs as soon as the transactions are recorded. See our privacy policy for the full picture.

Do not misuse the service: no attempting to access someone else's data, no disrupting the service, and no using it for anything unlawful.
We may suspend accounts that abuse the service. If that ever happens we will explain why and give you a chance to export or fix the issue where reasonably possible.

We work to keep the service available and improving, but it is provided as is, without guarantees of uninterrupted availability. Projected figures such as interest and forecasts are estimates based on the information you entered, not guarantees from your bank.
If these terms change in a way that matters, we will say so clearly in the app or by email before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms.
